Lavandula Swiss Italian Farm

Lavandula Swiss Italian Farm

A little taste of Italy 10 minutes north of Daylesford....Originally built in the 1860s, Lavandula's 1860s sandstaone farm buildings sit in a beautiful open garden. From the café La Trattoria, the view of lavender fields, olive grove and a vineyard make it the truly relaxing location for a glass of local wine and an antipasto. You can play petanque, search for the farm animals, or sit and listen to the birdsong. Lavender is best near Christmas, and is harvested by hand through January, to make Lavandula's range of body products also available through the webcart. Lavandula is open 10.30am-5.30pm daily 1 September-31 May, then weekends, Queen's Birthday and Victorian school holidays in June, July, August. Café closed August. 10 minute guided tours of house at 12, 2 & 4pm daily.

The Spa Capital of Australia?

Daylesford and Hepburn Springs are reputed to have more massage therapists per capita than anywhere in Australia.
If you visit the area you will believe it.
Day Spas are popping up like mushrooms and if you can't find the type of massage or spa you want here, it probably doesn't exist.

Hepburn Springs has been popular for decades and decades
(originally an escape for the wealthy of Melbourne which can be seen in many of the older buildings)
but it is the modern stressed filled lifestyle that has resurrected such interest in this region.

The original was the Hepburn Spa Complex (yes in Hepburn Springs).
Known as the Bathhouse it has been operating since 1895 when it had only two baths to soak in.
It is still in operation but now has many private baths, a public swimming area, salt water pool and every therapy you can imagine.
They still use mineral water from their own private source.
