DEEP SPRING ESTATE, a rather unconventional green experience.
Situated on 20 acres of elevated open native bush. Approx 8km from the hearth of Victoria's mineral water Centre Daylesford.
Deep Spring Estate itself is in close proximity of some of the better tasting local mineral springs. Deep Spring Estate is a registered "Land for Wildlife" property. Encouraging local wildlife to pass through or stay for a while, if they so desire.
With more than 1500 indigenous trees & shrubs planted over the years, creating new habitat for native birds & local wildlife. In springtime experience our local couple of wedge tail eagles soaring in the sky, teaching their youngsters to fly in our clean open sky.

FSC ACCOM LOMANDRA: & FSC AMULLA , a mixture of bush pole construction, timber panelling & wattle and daube inspired walls and finishes. More than just simple shelters intergraded into the bush. Cosy interiors opening onto secluded private courtyards for FSC LOMANDRA. And secluded enclosed verandah for FSC AMULLA.
(Patrons, please leave water in tub, which after departure will be used for watering the gardens).

SIMPLE NATURAL MATERIALS, with close reference to the Australian bush & surrounding farms. Firewood for the Centre's wood heaters is sourced from our own property (coppicing from regrowth). Grey water is collected & re-used on our gardens.

ACCOMMODATION at DEEP SPRING ESTATE is fully & well insulated, with clever use of airflow cavities to make natural use of cooler underfloor airflow in summer. Our Estate uses recycled & graded local hardwoods blended with timbers from our own timber mill.

DEEP SPRING ESTATE is now running stress free breaks for aspiring artists, inviting them to join our residence artists Charlotte & Peter in touring local inspiring objects & places of interest. Enjoying transferring them onto canvas or clay objects.

Why Daylesford and Hepburn Springs?

I suspect if you are looking here you already know, but just in case here is why?  This region is not known as the Spa Capital of Australia.  There are so many massage and beauty therapists in the area you are sure to bump into one while walking down the main street.  Spa therapies including wraps, scrubs, facials and spa baths.  Massage including relaxation, hot stone, lomi lomi, deep tissue, remedial, shiatsu and facial.  Beauty therapy including facials, skin analysis, wrinkle treatments and more.

Next is dining.  Some of the best food in the country is located here.  Award winning restaurants, cosy cafes and yummy bakeries.  Try pizza, Indian, traditional pasta, Thai cuisine, Italian, vegetarian, seafood and health foods.

The accommodation is divine.  From budget (you can camp in a tent) to luxury (so over the top you will be amazed) and everything in between.  Self contained including houses and units, Bed and Breakfasts including guest houses, health retreats, pet friendly, gay friendly, budget, and hotel or motel.  Something for everyone.

Finally the shopping and attractions.  From antiques to art galleries to paddling on the lake or horse riding through the bush.  Come on book now.  After all – Have you been pampered enough?

The Spa Capital of Australia?

Daylesford and Hepburn Springs are reputed to have more massage therapists per capita than anywhere in Australia.
If you visit the area you will believe it.
Day Spas are popping up like mushrooms and if you can't find the type of massage or spa you want here, it probably doesn't exist.

Hepburn Springs has been popular for decades and decades
(originally an escape for the wealthy of Melbourne which can be seen in many of the older buildings)
but it is the modern stressed filled lifestyle that has resurrected such interest in this region.

The original was the Hepburn Spa Complex (yes in Hepburn Springs).
Known as the Bathhouse it has been operating since 1895 when it had only two baths to soak in.
It is still in operation but now has many private baths, a public swimming area, salt water pool and every therapy you can imagine.
They still use mineral water from their own private source.
